Damion Scott Miracle Happens Cover

This is a cover for my spunky teenage ninja, Miracle, for the comic Miracle Happens. It's drawn by Damion Scott, a Marvel & DC artist, most known for creating the Stephanie Brown Robin and the original Cassandra Cain Batgirl comic. He & I were in the same class at the Kubert Art School. Damion has a heavy urban influence to his art.

I inked the pencils & added slight alterations to enhance the dynamics of the shot. Particularly extending Miracle's trademark shoelaces. The clouds were not inked and saved on another layer in photoshop. When the image is colored, it will be decided if the designed clouds will be used or a digitally created sky.

I like how Damion created eagle perches to go with my eagle themed comic. An interesting thing about having others draw one's character, I get to see what they personally add to the character. Miracle's hair should be in a simple ponytail but here it's wound up in a knot. When I was looking at Damion's Batgirl run, I found this is a hair style he gave to Cassandra Cain. It's cool seeing that combined with my character.

The image is a favorite of mine because of the layout. It's got the street hero perched on a gargoyle ready to jump down on crime. Generic but it hits the genre right on the nose.
